Another Toy Recall

I found yet another article about yet another recall concerning China and Toys R Us.

Will it never end??

So, this one concerns Toys R Us and the 27, 000 crayon and paint sets encased in a wooden box that is contaminated with lead.

From MSNBC:

Childhood exposure to lead can lead to reduced intelligence, hyperactivity and attention deficit disorder, research has shown.

Hmmm….Yeah.

Time to start making your own toys, everyone!

I’m so sick of seeing all these recalls. My son has a lot of the Thomas the Tank Engine toys that were recalled. It really angers me to think that lead based paint was used on some of them. Or maybe even all of them.

When are these corporations going to realize that manufacturing in China is a losing proposition?

I’d rather pay 20% more or whatever for something to be American-made and know that stuff is safe (one would hope).

That’s a really good point…making toys is a lost art, I think. It should be revived!

    Also, the Canadian Press reports:

“Toys “R” Us in the U.S. says customers can call 1-800-869-7787 for more information.”

If anyone is interested, there are a couple of wooden toy shops located in Vermont. A great alternative to China!!
