A Book I’m Adding To My ‘Must Read’ List

a year without china

A Year Without Made In China, by Sarah Bongiorni, has just been added to my list to read. Has anybody read it ? Got an opinion on it?

Looks quite interesting.

One family goes without anything made in China for an entire year . Is it possible?

I’ve heard about this. I really want to know how they did it because frankly, it doesn’t seem possible. EVERYTHING is made in China!

Looks like an interesting one… will have to add to my library queu. Would be a fabulous blog topic… IF someone was willing to go without things made in China for a year… which frankly I cannot imagine.

I guess it would be impossible to get rid of everything already in your home that was made in China. We’ve started paying more attention to the location at which the products we purchase are manufactured. I think my husband would like this book…on the Christmas list it goes!

Yes, it seems quite impossible to me, but, maybe it can be done…..

Although we are talking not just toys, but EVERYTHING-kitchen ware, kids clothes, furniture…the list goes on.

I have to admit, before all the recalls I wasn’t doing much monitoring at all of the origin of our toys and other items. I’ll keep an eye out.

Yes, Amanda, I would have to admit that myself. I feel as if I am extra-vigilant about it now. The other day, my daughter and I were at the store and we passed these Matchbox-type of cars. She wanted them SO BAD, but I took one look at them and put them back: Made In China.

And you know, they did seem abnormally SHINY….
